Sandee - Dog Walker/Pet Sitter - Williamsville, Getzville, East Amherst, Clarence
Hi! I'm Sandee and I'm the owner of Outta the Doghouse! I have an undergraduate degree in Philosophy and completed my graduate degree in Psychology. After finishing school, I worked as a counselor for 6 years. While I enjoyed working with people, my desire to spend my days with animals remained strong. Eventually, I made the decision to leave the counseling field and pursue my passion; that's when Outta the Doghouse was formed. I have grown up around animals my whole life and thoroughly enjoy every second I spend with them. In my spare time, I volunteer at the City of Buffalo Animal Shelter and have been doing so for just over 9 years. I also take pleasure in playing the role of "foster mom" and have had nearly 40 dogs & 10 cats through various rescue organizations in the Buffalo area. My husband and I share our home with our 7 year old Great Pyrenees named Anka, our 5 year old Pomeranian named Ari, and our two cats, Finn & Faye. All "foster failures"! My pets have pretty much become my children, so I know just how hard it can be to trust someone to take care of your beloved family members. That's why all members of the Outta the Doghouse team truly have a passion for pets. I can promise you that our team will care for your fur kids just as well as we care for our own. We look forward to hearing from you and we cannot wait to meet your pets!
Cheryl - Dog Walker/Pet Sitter - North Buffalo, Kenmore, Town of Tonawanda, Snyder
Hi my name is Cheryl and I have been an employee for Outta the Doghouse since February of 2017. I reside in the town of Tonawanda with my husband and our Great Dane Bambi, who we rescued in 2013. I worked in the beauty industry as a hairstylist for well over a decade after graduating high school. However, I never quite felt fulfilled and have always had a desire to work with animals. I decided to take a leap of faith and change career paths. That's where Outta the Doghouse came in. My love for dogs started at a very young age. I can't remember a time growing up when we didn't have a dog. I've also owned numerous other animals throughout the years including mice, hamsters, ferrets, and fish. I was employed at a local pet store for some time where I learned basic knowledge about reptiles, birds, and small animals. In my spare time, I enjoy taking Bambi to get togethers with her Great Dane friends. I also enjoy running, and am very active in the running community. I volunteer my time at local races and hope to complete my third half marathon next year. My husband and I recently started fostering for one of our local rescues. We have found it to be a very rewarding experience and hope to foster more dogs in the future. I look forward to meeting you and your pets, and providing them with the best care possible.
Samantha - Dog Walker/Pet Sitter - North Buffalo, Kenmore, Town of Tonawanda
Hello, my name is Samantha and I joined the Outta the Doghouse team in February 2019. I reside in Kenmore, NY and have a 23-year-old daughter. I’ve had a successful career as an accountant for just under 20 years in the banking industry, but recently decided to head to college as a nursing student. I enjoy learning as well as the experience. I find great happiness in being able to help other humans and all animals. My passion for animals has been a constant throughout my life. Growing up I had birds, fish, dogs and cats. I regularly rescued injured animals and cared for them. In my adult life, I have owned a few dogs that I loved like my children. Currently, I have Harley, a 12-year-old Golden Retriever that is a rescue and we’ve been together since he was 2 years old. I have also cared for many families and friends’ pets while they were away. I have been an active volunteer for many years with the Erie County SPCA. I am a member of the Farm Sanctuary in Watkins Glen that rescues farm animals and provides them a beautiful life for their remaining years. A dream of mine is to one day own my own rescue farm sanctuary. In my spare time I often read about different types of animals. I also love listening to music, the outdoors, camping and taking Harley to different parks and trails. I am grateful every day for all my experiences and being able to spend much of my life with animals. I can best describe my feelings for animals with this quote by A.A. Milne, author of Winnie-the-Pooh, ‘Some people talk to animals. Not many listen though. That’s the problem.’ I am thrilled to be able to have the opportunity to spend time with your pets and enjoy some playtime together.
Amanda - Dog Walker/Pet Sitter - Snyder, Williamsville, Getzville, East Amherst
Hi! My name is Amanda Healy I am a new member to the Outta the Doghouse team as of 2019. I am a mom of 2 great kids and one big ol’ dog. Ellbie came to us with eleven puppies as a foster and after 5 weeks of raising pups together I couldn’t let her go and she became part of our family. Along with raising my children, I am a hairstylist in the evening and love spending my days walking with all the great dogs of the Buffalo Area. Being with animals is when I feel most content. Nothing is more exciting than watching a dog get ready to leave the house for a walk; it brings me so much joy. I have had the pleasure of volunteering to foster dogs for the past 2 years and have seen how amazing it is to watch a dog transform, learn to trust and find the loving homes they deserve. It is very rewarding and it made me realize that I want to spend my time working with animals. My family and I have learned so much about the important things in life, through caring for our pets. It has become a passion for them as well as for me. I am so grateful for the opportunity to be able to call this my job.
Renee - Pet Sitter - Bed & Breakfast (in her home)
Hi. My name is Renee and I've been a pet sitter for Outta the Doghouse for nearly 2 years. My husband and I take dogs into our home and allow them to live with us as though they are part of our family. I’ve been an animal lover all my life, but joined rescue life in 2013 after losing our beloved Husky who we adopted from the SPCA; giving back was the best way to honor his memory. Since that time, my husband and I have volunteered for a few organizations and have fostered dogs until they found a loving home. Currently, we have 2 dogs – Annie, a 2 yo beagle mix who is a social butterfly and Ollie, a 4.5yo boxer mix who is sweet and shy; Ollie is a “foster failure” because once we had in our home we knew he had already found where he was meant to live! I work professionally in the healthcare industry, but have a flexible schedule when providing care for a visitor. It’s important to me that any furry friend feels the love and comfort in our home while their parents are away! I am committed to giving your pet the best time - their own “vacation” – while they are in my care.
Alex - Pet Sitter - Staycation (in the clients home)
(Pictured with pet sitting clients Hector and Chloe) Hi my name is Alex and I have been part of the Outta the Doghouse team for some time now. The Village of Lancaster is my home with my boyfriend and our cat Gracie, who we inherited with our house. I am a licensed insurance agent pursuing my AAI and CPCU designations in NYS. Animals and pets have been a huge passion in my life ever since I was a child. When I was young we traveled often, so we did not have a pet of our own. Instead, I spent time fostering kittens with my aunt and sister as well as pet sitting for friends and family when they traveled. Besides loving all of my surrogate pets, I spent time fundraising/volunteering for animal rescues and campaigning for animal rights. When I’m not working or volunteering I spend time on my hobbies, such as playing basketball. I also enjoy expanding my horizons through travel. Meeting you and your fur-babies would be a delight and I look forward to caring for them!
