A Note From Your Pet Care Professional...

Sandee - Dog Walker/Pet Sitter

(Williamsville, Getzville, East Amherst, Clarence)

Hi! I'm Sandee and I'm co-owner of Outta the Doghouse! I have an undergraduate degree in Philosophy and completed my graduate degree in Psychology. After finishing school, I worked as a counselor for 6 years. While I enjoyed working with people, my desire to spend my days with animals remained strong. Eventually, I made the decision to leave the counseling field and pursue my passion; that's when Outta the Doghouse was formed. I have grown up around animals my whole life and thoroughly enjoy every second I spend with them. In my spare time, I volunteer at the City of Buffalo Animal Shelter and have been doing so for just over 9 years. I also take pleasure in playing the role of "foster mom" and have had nearly 40 dogs & 10 cats through various rescue organizations in the Buffalo area. My husband and I share our home with our 7 year old Great Pyrenees named Anka, our 5 year old Pomeranian named Ari, and our two cats, Finn & Faye. All "foster failures"! My pets have pretty much become my children, so I know just how hard it can be to trust someone to take care of your beloved family members. That's why all members of the Outta the Doghouse team truly have a passion for pets. I can promise you that our team will care for your fur kids just as well as we care for our own. We look forward to hearing from you and we cannot wait to meet your pets!

Cheryl - Dog Walker/Pet Sitter

(Elmwood Village, North Buffalo, Kenmore, Town of Tonawanda, Snyder)

Hi my name is Cheryl. I have been with Outta the Doghouse since 2017, but transitioned to the role of co-owner in 2019. I reside in the town of Tonawanda with my husband. While we don't currently own any dogs, we have had the pleasure of loving 2 great danes in the recent past. We also foster dogs for a few local rescues, and are currently fostering a Pomeranian mix. We have found fostering to be a very rewarding experience and hope to foster more dogs in the future. I worked in the beauty industry as a hairstylist for well over a decade after graduating high school. However, I never quite felt fulfilled and have always had a desire to work with animals. I decided to take a leap of faith and change career paths. That's where Outta the Doghouse came in. My love for dogs started at a very young age. I can't remember a time growing up when we didn't have a dog. I've also owned numerous other animals throughout the years including mice, hamsters, ferrets, and fish. I was employed at a local pet store for some time where I learned basic knowledge about reptiles, birds, and small animals. In my spare time, I enjoy staying active by swimming, biking, and running. I'm very active in the local running community and enjoy volunteering my time at local races. I look forward to meeting you and your pets, and providing them with the best care possible.

Sam - Dog Walker/Pet Sitter

(Elmwood Village, North Buffalo, Kenmore, Town of Tonawanda)

Hello, my name is Samantha and I joined the Outta the Doghouse team in February 2019. I reside in Kenmore, NY and have a 23-year-old daughter. I’ve had a successful career as an accountant for just under 20 years in the banking industry, but recently decided to head to college as a nursing student. I enjoy learning as well as the experience. I find great happiness in being able to help other humans and all animals. My passion for animals has been a constant throughout my life. Growing up I had birds, fish, dogs and cats. I regularly rescued injured animals and cared for them. In my adult life, I have owned a few dogs that I loved like my children. Currently, I have Harley, a 12-year-old Golden Retriever that is a rescue and we’ve been together since he was 2 years old. I have also cared for many families and friends’ pets while they were away. I have been an active volunteer for many years with the Erie County SPCA. I am a member of the Farm Sanctuary in Watkins Glen that rescues farm animals and provides them a beautiful life for their remaining years. A dream of mine is to one day own my own rescue farm sanctuary. In my spare time I often read about different types of animals. I also love listening to music, the outdoors, camping and taking Harley to different parks and trails. I am grateful every day for all my experiences and being able to spend much of my life with animals. I can best describe my feelings for animals with this quote by A.A. Milne, author of Winnie-the-Pooh, ‘Some people talk to animals. Not many listen though. That’s the problem.’ I am thrilled to be able to have the opportunity to spend time with your pets and enjoy some playtime together.

Amanda - Dog Walker/Pet Sitter

(Snyder, Williamsville, Getzville, East Amherst)

Hi! My name is Amanda Healy I am a new member to the Outta the Doghouse team as of 2019. I am a mom of 2 great kids and one big ol’ dog. Ellbie came to us with eleven puppies as a foster and after 5 weeks of raising pups together I couldn’t let her go and she became part of our family. Along with raising my children, I am a hairstylist in the evening and love spending my days walking with all the great dogs of the Buffalo Area. Being with animals is when I feel most content. Nothing is more exciting than watching a dog get ready to leave the house for a walk; it brings me so much joy. I have had the pleasure of volunteering to foster dogs for the past 2 years and have seen how amazing it is to watch a dog transform, learn to trust and find the loving homes they deserve. It is very rewarding and it made me realize that I want to spend my time working with animals. My family and I have learned so much about the important things in life, through caring for our pets. It has become a passion for them as well as for me. I am so grateful for the opportunity to be able to call this my job.
