Meet The Team

Sandee
Dog Walker/Pet Sitter
(Getzville, WILLIAMSVILLE, East Amherst)
Hi! I'm Sandee and I'm co-owner of Outta the Doghouse. I have an undergraduate degree in Philosophy and completed my graduate degree in Psychology. After finishing school, I worked as a counselor. At this time, I also adopted a 5-year-old Saint Bernard (represented in our logo), who came with some significant behavioral challenges. Working with him reminded me that my heart was really with animals. Eventually, I made the decision to leave the counseling field and pursue my passion; that's when Outta the Doghouse was formed. I have grown up around animals my whole life and thoroughly enjoy every second I spend with them. In my spare time, I volunteer at the City of Buffalo Animal Shelter and have been doing so for just over 10 years. I also take pleasure in playing the role of "foster mom" and have fostered MANY dogs and cats through various rescue organizations in the Buffalo area. My husband and I share our home with our two Great Pyrenees, our Pomeranian and our cats. All "foster failures"! My pets have pretty much become my children, so I know just how hard it can be to trust someone to take care of your beloved family members. That's why all members of the Outta the Doghouse team truly have a passion for pets. I can promise you that our team will care for your fur kids just as well as we care for our own. We look forward to hearing from you and we cannot wait to meet your pets!

Cheryl
Dog Walker/Pet Sitter
(Elmwood Village, North Buffalo, Kenmore, Town of TonawandA)
Hi my name is Cheryl. I have been with Outta the Doghouse since 2017, but transitioned to the role of co-owner in 2019. I reside in the town of Tonawanda with my husband and our "foster fail" Pomeranian mix Kramer. We have fostered a handful of dogs over the years and find it to be a very rewarding experience. Before working in the animal care industry, I worked in the beauty industry as a hairstylist for well over a decade. However, I never quite felt fulfilled and have always had a desire to work with animals. I decided to take a leap of faith and change career paths. That's where Outta the Doghouse came in. My love for dogs started at a very young age. I can't remember a time growing up when we didn't have a dog. I've also owned numerous other animals throughout the years including mice, hamsters, ferrets, and fish. I was employed at a local pet store for some time where I learned basic knowledge about reptiles, birds, and small animals. In my spare time, I volunteer at The City of Buffalo Animal Shelter and enjoy learning about animal behavior and dog training. I look forward to meeting you and your pets, and providing them with the best care possible!

Amanda
Dog Walker/Pet VISITOR
(Snyder, Williamsville, Getzville, East Amherst)
Hi! My name is Amanda and I've been a member of the Outta the Doghouse team since 2019. I am a mom of 2 great kids and one big ol’ dog. Ellbie came to us with eleven puppies as a foster and after 5 weeks of raising pups together I couldn’t let her go and she became part of our family. Along with raising my children, I am a hairstylist in the evening and love spending my days walking with all the great dogs of the Buffalo Area. Being with animals is when I feel most content. Nothing is more exciting than watching a dog get ready to leave the house for a walk; it brings me so much joy. I have had the pleasure of volunteering to foster dogs for the past 2 years and have seen how amazing it is to watch a dog transform, learn to trust and find the loving homes they deserve. It is very rewarding and it made me realize that I want to spend my time working with animals. My family and I have learned so much about the important things in life, through caring for our pets. It has become a passion for them as well as for me. I am so grateful for the opportunity to be able to call this my job.

LUCY
Dog Walker/Pet VISITOR
(NORTH BuFFALO, Kenmore, town of tonawanda)
Hi, My name is Lucy and I reside in North Buffalo. I worked for Outta
the Doghouse prior to the pandemic and rejoined the team in 2022. I have always had a strong connection and interest in all kinds of
animals, but mainly dogs and cats. I worked at a doggie daycare and in
childcare for many years. My most recent position was at the Puppy
Playpen for the past 6 years. In my spare time, I play tennis, drums and
love the outdoors. I had a dog growing up that gave me my favorite
memories as a child and adopted a dog of my own in 2020. I also have
2 friendly felines named Otto and Gus. I look forward to spending time
with, and getting to know, your furry friends.

ELEXCIA
DOG WALKER/PET VISITOR
(north buffalo, SNYDER)
Hello, my name is Elexcia, I’m a born and raised Buffalo girl (Go Bills) excited to work with you and your pet(s)! I am graduating from UB with a Bachelors in Public Health this May, and excited to further my career attending nursing school at D’Youville University! Besides school, I revolve my life around animals. From horses to cats to bearded dragons they all find a way to steal my heart. I have been walking dogs since 2019, for fun, to help out coworkers with quick walks, feeding, giving medication, as well as fun sleepovers! I have 2 aunts who each have their own vet hospital in Rhode Island and Florida. Over the years, I’ve helped from just picking up after the animals, to feedings, as well as monitoring post op. Pictured is my sweet baby boy Zeus who was my childhood dog of 15 years! We loved hiking, driving around, having pup cups, singing, dancing, and going on fun vacations together! I look forward to meeting your pets and falling in love with them just as much as you already do! I’m so excited for this adventure with Outta the Doghouse, expanding my knowledge and heart to new furry friends!

AMY
Dog walker/pet visitor
(kenmore, town of tonawanda,north buffalo)
My Hello, my name is Amy. I moved to Buffalo from NYC about six years ago and I love it here. I was the resident dog walker in my Brooklyn apartment building. There were always at least three dogs in our apartment at any given time. I just recently had to say good-bye to my beloved 14-year-old dog Doris. We adopted her when she was 10 months old. She knew all the tricks and she was a hip checker. Such a personality she had. I look forward to filling the dog-void in my heart by showing all the love for your fur babies.
Rebecca
Dog Walker/pet sitter
(williamsville/snyder)
Hi! My name is Rebecca and I joined Outta the Doghouse in June 2022. I am a lifelong resident of Williamsville, where I reside with my black lab, Molly. I have also had cats, previously. I am a huge animal lover who is passionate about animals and pet care. I have dog walked for others prior to joining Outta the Doghouse and have also dog sat for friends and family throughout the years. Each experience I had continued to highlight my love and passion for animals, so I decided to work with them! Outside of pet care, traveling is a huge passion and hobby of mine! I love to travel and explore new places, spend time in nature and hike. I look forward to meeting my new four-legged friends through Outta the Doghouse, and to giving your fur baby loving, attentive care!

cait
Dog Walker/pet visitor
(North Buffalo, Elmwood village)
Hi, I’m Cait! I’ve spent the past several years working with dogs doing all sorts of different things (daycares, enrichment, dog training) and have always had a lifelong love of animals. Growing up, I had dogs, cats, hamsters, and guinea pigs. As an adult, I have two cattle dog mixes (Aurora and Atticus), four cats (Boose, Tiger, Lilly, & Kittimus Prime), and a husband (Matt). A big piece of my heart will always lie in rescue, as I have fostered dogs in the past and hope to continue doing it in the future! In my spare time, I love taking my dogs hiking, doing all sorts of crafts, learning anything that I can regarding animals, and I’m a pretty big history nerd. I’m excited to be on this journey with Outta the Doghouse and look forward to taking care of your pets!
